Introduction and screening of the film “On the Other Side. Diary of a Kidnapping”

On the Other Side. Diary of a Kidnapping, directed by Iván Guarnizo and produced by Jorge Caballero, brings a change of narrative with regard to the Colombian conflict; a change that places reconciliation at the centre. As the director explains, this film tries to understand that “the country’s history doesn’t have to carry on as the story of two factions, a clash between armed groups, or the ideological clash of people who follow their convictions as far as violence.” Likewise, the film asks us “if another Colombia is possible, despite the pain each side has inflicted on the other, and despite the injustices.”

This activity is taking place in Bilbao on 5th July, the day before the European Presentation of the Colombia Truth Commission’s Final Report.
