Alimentacción: expanding spaces for the right to Food and Sustainable Development with a gender perspective, in all areas of formal education
AimFrom Alimentacción we promote an alternative model based on the principles of Food Sovereignty with a gender perspective, taking the educational center as a dynamic axis to involve the entire community.
DescriptionAlimentacción: Network of Schools for a Living Rural World -social-educational program that started in 2010 with the help of Food Justice and which, since 2014, Hegoa has been incorporated- part of the accompaniment to educational centers as an axis of action to reflect on our diet and how it affects the environment, health and living conditions of people and the community. The network is made up of nursery, primary, secondary and high school centers throughout the Spanish State that want to generate critical awareness and promote action in the face of the social, economic and environmental consequences generated by our food model throughout the entire production process , distribution, commercialization, consumption and waste. Currently, the program has the participation of around 160 educational centers (mainly public schools in Andalusia, Cantabria, Castilla la Mancha, Catalunya, Illes Balears, Madrid, País Valencià and Euskadi, which allows us to work with more than 1,300 teachers in the entire State The experience has become an educational benchmark.
