On December 15th, 2017, Vera-Cruz Montoro Váquez defended her doctoral thesis titled: “Proceso de transversalización de la perspectiva de género en la Vía Campesina Internacional (1993-2013). La doble lucha de las mujeres de LVC (The process of gender mainstreaming in La Vía Campesina Internacional (1993-2013). The double struggle of the women of LVC)” and directed by Yolanda Jubeto and Mertxe Larrañaga.

The general objective of this thesis is detecting the initiatives that LVC have adopted during 1993-2013 in order to mainstream a gender perspective that will allow for a wider equality in the participation of women and men. For this, the thesis looks at the internal dimension as well as the social impact, together with the achievements and limitations in relation to the oppression of heteropatriarchy.
