DOCTORAL THESIS

The transformation of the labour relationship during the neoliberal phase: The neo-proletariat and the ultra-contractual subordination.

Peio Salazar Martínez de Iturrate

Peio Salazar Martínez de Iturrate defended his doctoral thesis titled “La transformación de la relación laboral durante la etapa neoliberal: El neo-proletariado y la subordinación ultra-contractual (The transformation of the labour relationship during the neoliberal phase: The neo-proletariat and the ultra-contractual subordination)” and supervised by Aitor Bengoetxea Alkorta and María Luz de la Cal Barredo on December 15th, 2017.

The objective of this study is the degradation of the working conditions of a big part of the working population during the last three decades, especially in the Spanish state. This degradation acquires three forms that compose the bulk of the problem that the Spanish labour market experiences since the 80s: precariousness, low salaries and high levels of unemployment.
